First and foremost, I was inspired to write it because God called me to do it! I knew that I must answer His call. My problem in getting started was that I thought I had to extend my dissertation work around clergy wellness, so I wasted some time with focus groups and research on that path. But I could not generate any energy to do that book because it had already been written!
After much prayer and a couple of years later, God revealed to me that it would be a devotional book. Again, my own thinking got in the way and I thought that it had to be a daily devotional. A 365-page book! I realized that it was God who was leading the writing for the book! Not me!
Secondly, I wrote the book because I had gone through a traumatic experience when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and as a breast cancer survivor and I wanted to share with others how they too could overcome some of the most horrific experiences in life.
Lastly, I wrote the book to leave a legacy. None of us are going to live forever but this book will live forever and hopefully, it will be a blessing to many people for years to come.
